The Guesture Standard
This is what makes our work different.
Before your first clean, we ask that you take a few minutes to read what we call The Unmissables. These aren’t just instructions—they’re the small gestures that have built our reputation over eight years. Seriously, we keep an almost impossible 4.8 rating on Airbnb, receiving 95% of the times 5 Star Reviews. Keep this in mind.
They’re how we avoid deep cleans, prevent complaints, and exceed expectations—week after week, property after property.
We invite you to read slowly. Absorb the rhythm. This is the Guesture way.
This isn’t just another checklist. This is how we’ve built a reputation for care, for trust, and for consistency over the last eight years. These are the details we don’t miss—because when we do it right, deep cleans aren’t needed. Guests walk in and feel it instantly: this space has been looked after. We know it works, because we have done it ourselves several times!
🛏 Bedrooms
A good clean starts with rhythm.
Two team members arrive—one takes the laundry, the other begins stripping the bed. All bedding should be rolled together inside the duvet cover. Always check the mattress and the protector. Pillows fluffed. Together, dress the bed tight and even.
Then comes the detail: both start at the headboard and wipe with intention—microfibre and product. Work down through bed frame, bedside tables (never missed), drawer interiors, legs, and sockets - we then wipe the light bulb. Follow the walls: skirting boards, light switches, door frames. Window sills must be clean, and anything—shelves, picture frames, curtain poles—should be wiped.
A room done well feels calm, crisp, and complete.

🛁 Bathrooms
The trick? Let the product work for you.
Apply bathroom descaler to shower screens and give it time—five minutes makes all the difference. While it sets, move on: apply cleaner to the toilet, seat, cistern, sink, and surrounding tiles.
Then rinse or wipe thoroughly.
All metals should be polished. Always carry a brush for the tight spots your cloth can’t reach. Splashbacks and tiles must be wiped—even if they don’t look dirty. Skipping them today means a stain tomorrow.
Mirrors should be streak-free.
Sometimes a dry buff with a fresh cloth is better than cleaner. Check from different angles. If there are white marks—wipe them. Never leave them.
Shower trays, edges of shower, and waste traps are a must, and the ones starting to tell if we miss to clean them.
Before mopping the floor, check and refill everything: handwash, body wash & Shampoo, Conditioner, should look new, not half-used.

🍽 Kitchens
The heartbeat of every home—and where we shine.
Start with the unmissables: toaster, kettle, microwave, oven, fridge, and freezer. These must look new. Kettles should be descaled. Toasters emptied and wiped. The oven? Wipe it every time—it’s how we’ve avoided deep cleans for eight years.
Cutlery should be polished, free from watermarks or smudges. Check that guests haven’t returned dirty plates to the cupboard. If they have, it’s your job to put it right.
Surfaces and cupboard doors should be fingerprint-free.
Wipe every handle. Polish where needed. Leave behind:
-
Tea, coffee, sugar, salt, and pepper
-
Multi-purpose spray & washing-up liquid
-
Two tea towels, one sponge, one scourer
-
Two washing tablets & bin bags
Check iron, ironing board, hair dryer—guests will.
🌿 Final Touches
-
Smell matters. Use clean cloths, fresh mop, and leave the space lightly scented.
-
Bins: Always emptied, always relined.
-
Floors: Not just mopped—scrubbed where needed. Marks are not optional.
-
Skirting boards: Not every day, but always spotless. If you cleaned them yesterday, fine. But never let them slip.
-
Switches, remotes, handles, sockets: Wipe and sterilise before you leave.
-
Picture frames, TV stands, open shelves: Wipe them. Every time.
